It is an exciting time to join Marie Curie in the area of data insights & analytics - the role of Head of Insights & Analytics will lead, develop and manage Marie Curie’s Business Insights & Analytics vision, strategy and roadmap, enabling Marie Curie to deliver its organisational strategy of ensuring that everyone affected by dying, death and bereavement has the best possible experience, reflecting what’s most important to them, and to deliver Marie Curie’s strategic goals:

  • To build integrated place-based end of life services
  • To strengthen our national voice and influence thinking around end of life experience

  • To build financial sustainability

The new role of Head of Insights & Analytics will drive forward Marie Curie’s data vision - To provide all Marie Curie personnel with easy access to the reports and insights they need to make data driven timely decisions.  This include external indicators and KPIs to inform Marie Curie of its organisational impact and executive strategy.

Maire Curie holds patient, supporter, personnel (including staff and volunteers) data.  There are substantial opportunities for Marie Curie to integrate and use this data to help meet our strategic goals.

Initial activities

This will be Marie Curie’s first senior role dedicated to leading and developing business insights and analytics capabilities across all directorates.  There is a need to prioritise four activities initially to build capability and define the function:

  • Developing the Business Insights Strategy and roadmap, then taking the lead in its execution
  • Leading Marie Curie’s newly formed Business Insights & Analytics team
  • Gathering business insights and reporting requirements from all areas of the organisation
  • Forming and leading the Data Design Authority – including the setting and approval of its Terms of Reference.

What we are looking for:

A strategic thinker, with a strong understanding of how data and insight drives performance, you will have experience operating at a senior level in a similar role. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to understand and analyse complex issues and business processes and communicate and influence key stakeholders right across the charity.

Leading a team of experts, your will be effective in setting plans and priorities, to meet multiple competing demands and targets.
