Patient Administration Co-ordinator

35 hours per week, Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm

Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead, North London

Marie Curie is here for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. The hospice is located in Hampstead and has a 30 bedded In Patient Unit along with a very busy Outpatient Service.

Working as part of the administration team, this role is unique within the hospice. You will be responsible for the local management of our Patient Record System EMIS, including training new members of staff and producing reports. 

Reporting to the Administration Team Leader, this is a varied role and no two days will be the same. As well as training all staff members, you will work closely with key members of the hospice team to develop and maintain systems to ensure correct use of EMIS. 

You will also receive and produce reports for the Senior Management team, both on a regular and ad-hoc basis, so you must be able to demonstrate exemplary organisation and time-management skills. Alongside this, you will be the main point of contact on site for IT issues, escalating to the central IT Team where necessary. Main point of contact for invoicing and the lead for E-roster at the hospice.

Training will be provided although you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, have strong IT and typing skills, be well organised and flexible to provide admin cover to the wider hospice when required, be pro- active, a team player and able to work on your own initiative, managing your time effectively. You will have access to patient records, you should therefore have the resilience and discretion to work in this environment.
