Marie Curie is here for people living with any terminal illness and their families. We offer expert care, guidance and support to help them get the most from the time they have left.

We are recruiting an Assistant Practitioner to be part of our service to provide End of Life care to patients in the North Kirklees area.  The service will be coordinated from our Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford. 

Acting within your professional boundaries, you will provide specialist palliative care to the patient from initial point of contact to include, history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of that care. You must be competent in assuring that interventions are enabled to effectively support the patient their relatives and carers in order to ensure that the patient’s choice, dignity and end-of life wishes are realised. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills for patients receiving end-of–life care. You will have the ability to demonstrate critical decision making and will work collaboratively in the team to meet the needs of patients.

It is essential that you have a foundation level degree in the health and care sector (which includes OT and physio), and will be keen to further develop skills in a specialist setting. The ability to drive with access to a vehicle insured for business use is also essential for this role.
