Marie Curie is a leading, UK-wide charity and well-loved brand that has stepped up to play a vital role during the coronavirus crisis supporting dying people and their families.  Our work would not be possible without support from philanthropists, charitable trusts, foundations and corporate partners.

Philanthropy and Partnerships is built on developing bespoke relationships and partnerships. We are truly humbled and inspired by the power of these relationships and the generosity of Marie Curie supporters who share our passion for ensuring that people get the end of life experience they deserve.

The global pandemic has heightened the need for our work and presents a real opportunity for us to make a step-change in our impact.

We are now seeking to appoint a Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to play a vital leadership role in Fundraising to inspire support and deliver income so that we can improve the end of life experience for more people, including the people who care about them. Working closely with the fundraising leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our high value giving strategy.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of relationship management and new business development to increase voluntary income or sales. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills, and the credibility and confidence to win support from decision-makers at the highest levels. You will be able to inspire and motivate people internally and externally.

You will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising or commercial environment. An understanding of how to prepare financial information, analyse, plan strategically and make evidence-based decisions will be essential.

With the fundraising and economic environment facing unprecedented disruption, you will be resilient, agile and able to work at pace and lead through ambiguity to identify and harness new strategic opportunities and partnerships.

We encourage applications from candidates with transferable skills as well as people with direct high value fundraising experience. You will have an authentic desire to work in the voluntary sector and a genuine commitment to the work of Marie Curie.

Marie Curie is committed to a world where everyone can thrive and fulfil their potential. We are devoted to the social justice imperatives and organisational benefits of full diversity, inclusion and equity in the workplace, and are a Stonewall champion. We actively encourage and welcome applications from candidates of diverse cultures, perspectives and lived experiences.
