Marie Curie are recruiting to our Day Service in Redbridge with an exciting opportunity for Healthcare Assistants to join our team. This is an exciting time to join an ambitious and much loved charity, to be part of our growing services in supporting those living with a terminal illness within the North East London region. The applicant will be required to work 9am-6pm, providing care in the patient’s home. Outside of home visits the applicant will be based at home.

The successful applicant will play an active role in our team, providing excellent individualised care, enabling patients to be cared for and die in their own homes surrounded by their families and loved ones. It’s all about giving them the best quality of life. The support we offer is tailored to meet individual’s medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.

Ideally you will hold a NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or be able to demonstrate equivalent/relevant (clinical) experience and the willingness to learn/work towards reaching a Level 3 or further qualifications. Relevant experience in Palliative or End of Life care is desirable but not essential. You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to work well within a team, use initiative and organise your workload and have excellent communication skills.

A driver’s license is essential and the use of a car with business insurance.

In return, we offer access to a generous portfolio of training and education, management support, clinical supervision and an occupational pension scheme (NHS pension transferable). Please note: Marie Curie is not a NHS employer however the candidate can continue with NHS pension (subject to eligibility).

If you are looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to make a difference to people at the end of their lives we would love to hear from you.

For an informal discussion, please contact Nicola Wigmore, Clinical Nurse Manager, on 07515133220.

Our Regional vision is to flourish as a dynamic team, inspiring individuals to cultivate their well-being, giving opportunity to develop and reach their fullest potential”
