About the team

The Legacy Administration Team makes up one-third of Marie Curie’s Legacy Team and works closely alongside the Central and Regional Legacy Marketing Teams. An opportunity has arisen for a passionate individual to join our successful department. If you’re keen to become a valued member of our Legacy Team, please read on…

About the role

This role will be responsible for the line management of our team’s two Legacy Officers. They will also look after a number of contentious legacy cases, as part of their dedicated caseload that includes pecuniary, residuary and reversionary legacies.

You will ensure that Marie Curie receives its full entitlement from a will in a timely manner, whilst protecting our reputation at all times. You will help to maximise the value of all legacies we receive and will ensure gifts are correctly allocated in restricted and unrestricted funds in accordance with a person’s will. You will also work closely with the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team to identify suitable legacies to assist with the funding of capital projects.

It’s a truly exciting time to join Marie Curie, as we are at the beginnings of our new Legacy Strategy. We are developing new strategies to build better relationships with solicitors and personal executors and are looking at ways of nurturing these now and for the future. Our new Senior Legacy Officer will play a key role in the shaping of this project going forward.

About you

You will be:

  • An ambassador for Marie Curie, who embodies our values and exudes passion and enthusiasm about the work we do.
  • You will be confident, personable and be able to demonstrate solid experience of legacy administration and an understanding of probate law.
  • You should be highly numerate, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You should be able to demonstrate management experience.
  • Experience of using a legacy database is essential - FirstClass 4 would be highly desirable, but this is not a requirement as training will be provided.

If you think you fit the bill, we would love to hear from you!
