About the role

We have a rare opportunity for someone exceptional to join our Information Governance and Security Team.

This role is vital in protecting our patients, supporters, volunteers, and staff against cyber-crime, identity theft and fraud.  It is also key to maintaining public trust in Marie Curie which, in turn, enables our fundraising teams to raise money so our nurses can deliver excellent care to our patients.

As one of our dedicated team of professionals you will help us achieve this by supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of our information governance, security and privacy work program across the charity.

This role will be instrumental in communicating secure behaviours to the organisation and assessing new initiatives and projects for information governance and security risks and developing risk treatment plans.

About You

We are looking for someone that is security and privacy conscious and vigilant by nature. You share our enthusiasm for driving forward pragmatic and effective information governance and security. You will be able to clearly communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, ensuring your message is understood and that good information handling practices are at the forefront of people’s minds.

You must have excellent MS Office skills, particularly in MS Excel and MS Visio, and have a background in a similar role. Good analytical and investigation skills with experience in the risk assessment of cloud-hosted services will also put you in good stead.

You are a clever communicator who is very comfortable with face to face interaction and can give clear and concise information to our staff and volunteers using a variety of other channels.  Building and maintaining relationships will come naturally to you and is vital to support our ambitious change  programme across our diverse teams.

A background in marketing & communications or education will prove helpful, where existing skills can be transferred and developed.  However, you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of relevant information related legislation and the impact data breaches have in society. You will be pragmatic, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for protecting privacy and security.

You will thrive in a dynamic environment and have the confidence and understanding to tackle day to day challenges, prioritising effectively.

If you care about people and protecting their privacy through security, we would love to hear from you.
