HOURS:  9 Programmed Activities (PA’s) per week (36 hours) with 1 in 9 second on call commitment

Marie Curie Hospice, Belfast is a purpose built specialist palliative care unit with 18 inpatient beds, a multidisciplinary day hospice/out-patient department and satellite day hospice services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant to join our team at the Belfast Hospice. The successful applicant will support the medical and wider multidisciplinary team in the delivery of high standards of care to inpatients, community and day-patients.  The post-holder will play an important medical role managing patients with complex palliative care needs and sharing clinical responsibility for patients with both malignant and non-malignant conditions.   

The successful applicant will have demonstrable leadership skills and experience of palliative care in a wide range of settings.

In addition to clinical and educational roles, the post holder will be involved in planning and delivering services to maintain clinical excellence at Marie Curie Hospice.

Candidates must have GMC registration and be on or eligible within 6 months from date of interview for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Palliative Medicine (via CCT, CESR or EC rights).
