Marie Curie is the UK’s leading charitable provider of palliative and end of life care. Our expertise ensures our patients and their families receive the highest quality care and support: in the right place, at the right time, right up to the end. Whether through the provision of 24/7 nursing care, responsive care at short notice, or discharge support from hospital, our nursing teams enable more people to be cared for in the place they choose. Across everything we do, we put patients first, making sure they receive palliative and end of life care we can all be proud of.

Marie Curie Surrey CHC service in the East Surrey area has exciting opportunities for excellent carers to join our team and be part of this growing Service. This is a great time to join an ambitious, much loved charity seeking to grow our support and services within the South East Region.

£10.17 - £11.13 per hour dependant on home location

The successful applicant will play an active role in our team, providing excellent individualised care, enabling patients to be cared for and die in their own homes surrounded by their families and loved ones.  It's all about giving them the best possible quality of life. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals' medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.

Physical activities required by the role include but are not limited to patient handling, frequent standing, sitting, walking, climbing up and down stairs, kneeling and crouching to attend to patient needs (including in an emergency situation) and load handling.

Ideally you will hold a NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or be able to demonstrate equivalent/relevant (clinical) experience and the willingness to learn/work towards reaching a NVQ Level 3/further qualifications. Relevant experience in Palliative or End of Life Care is desirable but not essential. You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to work well within a team, use initiative and organise your workload and have good communication skills.

A driver's license and the use of a car, insured for business use is essential. You will be based at our Caterham Office.

In return, we offer access to a generous portfolio of training and education, bursary scheme, management support, clinical supervision and an occupational pension scheme (NHS pension transferable). Please note: Marie Curie is not a NHS Employer however the successful candidate can continue with NHS pension (subject to eligibility).

If you are looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to make a difference to people at the end of their lives we would love to hear from you.
