The Marie Curie End of Life Care Service is expanding; building on our existing new team of carers in West Cornwall who will be entirely committed to providing End of Life Care for people in their own homes.

The role of the Registered nurse will be to perform supervisory duties for a team of Healthcare Assistants, carry out clinical triage, and be involved with case management and coordination duties within the Team.

The hours will be predominantly 8am-4pm and will include some weekends.

Marie Curie CHC End of Life Care Service is a community-based care service. The aim of this service is to respond quickly to support eligible patients and their carers within the community and prevent inappropriate admissions to secondary care. This will be in the patient’s own home. It gives us the ability to offer one to one holistic care for people in their own homes, supporting them at a time of their greatest need, in the place they have chosen to be, right up until the end of their life.

The service works in collaboration with the NHS, social services and providers of end of life care in the community.

Ideally you will have recent end of life care experience and experience of care management.

A professional nursing qualification is essential. Your interest and commitment to this exceptional care is important, together with a willingness to learn and develop your specialist skills in end of life care.

In return for your commitment and hard work, Marie Curie will offer specialist training for end of life care working and a mileage allowance for travel to and from patient’s homes if you use your own car.

Please note that Marie Curie is not an NHS Employer. However successful candidates who were recently previous NHS workers may be eligible to continue contributions into their NHS Pension Scheme.

For an informal chat about the roles please contact Sue Egerton, Clinical Nurse Manager on 07515 133223.
