About the role

A rare opportunity has arisen for a talented Senior Manager to join our team.  As Head of Finance you will have responsibility for key aspects of financial control, reporting and financial management for Marie Curie.  This role is an integral part of the Senior Finance Team which manages spend against budget and forecast, ensures correct recognition of financial transactions and adequate financial controls.

A diverse role across the full spectrum of the finance function, you will support Director of Finance to deliver a high standard of financial governance and control, whilst continuously delivering a high quality customer focused finance partnering service to two Executive Directors. 

The Head of Finance will oversee the production of monthly management accounts, new bid assessments and help to ensure that all available resources support our aims and organisational direction.

About you

A talented and passionate leader with a wealth of experience working within a medium/large sized finance function in a Senior role.

A customer focused, financial expert who can demonstrate advanced competence and provide quality advice to the charity. A born problem solver who can communicate financial information to stakeholders with ease.  With excellent analytical skills, you will see the key messages behind the numbers.   You can confidently demonstrate your understanding of tax regulations (VAT, Gift Aid) and knowledge of charity finance (SORP for charities).  Experience of reporting, budgeting and forecasting in a complex, multi division organisation is a must, as is ensuring that all financial systems and processes are operated effectively and efficiently.

You must be willing to travel nationally on a periodic basis to attend key meetings and build relationships with stakeholders.
