We are currently looking for an experienced secretary/administrator who has worked in a similar role, ideally within a healthcare setting, to join our excellent admin team.  The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the healthcare sector and used to handling highly sensitive information.

You must be well organised, flexible, pro- active, a good team player, and a good communicator – verbal and written, with the ability to work on you own initiative. This is a busy and demanding role so the successful candidates must be able to manage their time effectively.

This role covers a range of duties including supporting our senior medical team with the preparation of essential documents, minute taking, coordinating travel, ordering goods and assisting in other areas across the hospice when required, and will involve working on the main reception Desk of the Hospice.

The right candidate will be able to deliver high quality working in a fast-paced environment, accuracy is a must and attention to detail is paramount.

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft office is essential (including Excel applications), as is the ability to use audio transcription services – you will be needed to transcribe clinic correspondence.

Previous experience of working with an electronic patient record system would be advantageous – we use EMIS.

The post holders will be based in the patient services office and will come into contact with hospice patients and their families therefore, must be comfortable working in this setting and be confident when liaising with other healthcare professionals and organisations.

This is a permanent role, 35 hours per week, working hours are 8.30- 4.30 Monday to Friday
