About the role

This is a great opportunity to join one of the most successful community fundraising teams in the sector.

The main focus of the role will be on building and developing long term relationships in the community, in your own designated fundraising area, where you will grow a network of inspired and engaged local communities supporting Marie Curie.

A key element will be to support, develop and inspire volunteers and fundraising groups to ensure local fundraising activity is as effective as possible in delivering the maximum benefit for Marie Curie. You will provide excellent stewardship and support to our fundraising groups and volunteers to enable an increase of income and deliver the agreed Community Fundraising Strategy.

Handling inquiries from supporters and representing the charity across your area, including supporting and delivering the local running of national campaigns, such as the Great Daffodil Appeal and Swimathon, through relationships built with individuals, groups, associations and companies.

About you

Ideally, you’ll come to us with some insight into how local fundraising works, supported by a good and demonstrable range of office skills. You may have worked in the charity sector, event marketing, or PR. But more important is your ability to use your sound communication and customer service skills, to ensure that we continue to maintain and grow the budget we need to support the work of Marie Curie across the Dorset

In addition, you will be fully mobile enabled providing you with the flexibility needed to work in the community to build a successful network of supporters.  Interested candidates should hold their full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.  In return for your own commitment, we commit to actively developing you and offer a comprehensive Community Fundraising Training Pathway, buddying, mentoring, shadowing and coaching through your individually tailored personal development plan.

Every day of your life matters – from the first to the last. When you work for Marie Curie, you understand that better than ever. We’re a passionate, committed and diverse team of more than 4,400 staff and 12,000 volunteers, here for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. We offer expert care, guidance and support, to help them get the most from the time they have left.

Everyone knows our daffodil, but it’s our warmth, creativity and care that touch lives. Here, we take the time to really get to know the people we care for and those who love them. And we do whatever it takes to give them the final days and hours they deserve.
