Patient Service Co-ordinator

Location:          Edinburgh Hospice

Hours:              35 hours per week

Salary:             £17,669 - £19,632 per annum

To be responsible for data input and the integrity of information systems, i.e. Palliative database; and to provide and analyse information relevant to the management of the Hospice.

Key Tasks

 To maximise the benefits of the Palliative databases system

  • Acquire and maintain the necessary skills to allow the extraction of meaningful reports from Palliative databases.
  • To take lead internal responsibility for Palliative databases hardware and software problems.
  • To work in collaboration with the Administration team within the Hospice to ensure effective support throughout, ensuring the needs of the Hospice are met in times of holidays/sickness. This includes cover for secretarial work and Reception.

The successful candidate will have:

 Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office – word processing, spreadsheets, database – ability to use Word and Excel. Experience of working with databases and producing reports.

  • Ability to achieve accurate and fast returns of work
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well at all levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be able to prioritise work to ensure tight deadlines are met on a daily basis
  • Knowledge of Healthcare environment
  • O level or GCSE in English and Maths
  • Motivation and enthusiasm
  • The ability and willingness to be flexible and dynamic
