This is a rare opportunity to join the national Internal Audit team which currently consists of three staff in a large and complex organisation at an exciting time for the charity. The Internal Audit team has a vital role in providing independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of the charity’s risk management, control and governance processes to ensure the charity delivers its strategic objectives and vision of a better life for people and their families living with a terminal illness.

The role is broad ranging. Working as part of the UK-wide team you will contribute to the development of the annual audit plan and be responsible for undertaking risk- based audits and other reviews across all aspects of the charity’s activities, as well as advising on policies and procedures. You may be required to manage volunteer auditors as part of your role.

With a recognised professional auditing qualification and in depth and up to date understanding of risk based internal auditing you will bring practical audit experience to the role. With excellent communication and listening skills you will have experience of gathering, analysing and evaluating facts to prepare and present concise oral and written reports. You will have excellent organisational skills and strong problem-solving skills and be used to using your own initiative to resolve issues, prioritise your workload and work under pressure to achieve deadlines.

We are looking for someone who is persuasive and diplomatic, confident and decisive who will be comfortable with building effective working relationships and providing advice at all levels, and who has a commitment to the mission, vision and values of Marie Curie.
