Policy and Public Affairs Manager

Permanent, Full Time Position

Up to £35,086 per annum 

We are recruiting to one post but are flexible whether we recruit at this level or at our Policy Officer level.

We are looking for an experienced Policy Manager to join our award-winning Policy & Public Affairs team Based in our hospice in Penarth, the Policy Manager will play a key role in growing the evidence-base that underpins our campaigning and public affairs activity in Wales and play a leading role in developing our policy positions and policy reports in Wales and beyond.

The Policy Manager will lead on developing and building relationships with government, officials, elected representatives, the NHS in Wales, the wider third sector and other key stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with at least three years’ experience in a policy environment who has led on policy research with a strong track record of delivering accurate and impactful written materials.

A background in palliative and end of life care is not essential, but an excellent understanding of relevant public policy development and public affairs activity is required. You will have experience in reaching influencers through a range of means including events and the media, social and other.

The Policy Manager role reports to the UK Director of Policy & Public Affairs who also acts as the Head of Policy and Public Affairs in Wales.
